Robert (Bob/Nick) Woodrow Nichols
Was born on 7/8/30 in Tacoma and died on 9/16/17 at Puyallup Rehab. He was the sixth of seven children born to Lillian (Kuhn) and James Harold Nichols. Nick graduated from Stadium in 1948. He served as a US Navy Corpsman in Korean. He earned his Bachelor's in Ed from UPS in 1956 and his Masters in Ed from Arizona State in 1965. His career with the Tacoma Public School District began in 1956 and included teacher, coach, counselor, assistant principal and principal of Lincoln (1978-1981) and Mt Tahoma (1981-1988). After retiring, he continued as a sub principal, working 52 years with the district. Nick played handball, pickleball and racquetball at the Tacoma Elks. He enjoyed all sports, but was passionate about football. Nick will be dearly missed by his sweet wife Jo, his sister Grace, his children Kim, Kelly, Katy, Kris and Rob; his grandchildren Hannah, Josiah, Jesse, Sarah, Kyla, Anikka, Joshua, Nicholas, Stephen and Skyler; his great grandchildren Emily, Kara, Byron, Jace, Emeryn and Ellie; and many nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
