Mildred "Mitty" Katherine Morse-Gregory born March 9, 1927 in Otsego County Michigan passed away on April 29, 2023, in Tacoma, Washington. She was a cherished member in her community, and loved gardening, flowers and birds. Mitty and her high school sweetheart, Ivan “Lee” Gregory, shared a deep love that lasted a lifetime. They met in Harbor Springs High School, where Mitty played the part of Mitty in a school play, and Lee lovingly gave her that name as a nickname.
Mitty and Lee were married in the base chapel at the Army Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas, on March 28, 1945. They went on to have five children of their own and treated many more children like family throughout their lives. Mitty will always be remembered for her kind and nurturing nature, which touched the lives of so many.
Mitty is survived by her lchildren, Alan Gregory, Margie Gregory-Pelley, and Norman Gregory, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. While her passing is deeply felt, her memory will always be cherished by those who knew her.
A memorial service to celebrate Mitty's life will be held on July 21st at St. Benedict Episcopal Church in Lacey, Washington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Browns Point United Methodist Church, where Mitty and Lee were long-time members, or Sound Hospice, who provided loving care to Mitty during her final months. Mitty's legacy of love and kindness will live on through the memories of those she touched.
