Mavis Bernice Brinkman, 92, of Puyallup, Washington passed away quietly at home on August 21, 2021 after a long battle with dementia. She was surrounded by her loving family, including her husband Robert, some of her children, and grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 3 – 8 PM on Wednesday, September 8th at Weeks’ Dryer Mortuary in Tacoma, WA. A Memorial Service will be held September 9, 2021 from 2:15 – 2:45 PM at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.

Mavis and Robert were together in marriage for 66 1/2 wonderful years. They married January 6, 1955 and Mavis became an Air Force wife. Their travels took them many places around the Western US and included 1 1/2 years in Taiwan. She was the sole caregiver of her oldest 3 children, who at the time were all under the age of two, while Robert was on a tour in Turkey; and for all four children for the year that Robert served our country in Vietnam.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Olga and Casper Gran; and siblings Myrtle Henriksen, Mildred Hauger, Eleanor Christopherson, and Cletus Gran.
She left behind her husband Robert Brinkman; children Wayne Brinkman of St. Louis, MO, Greg Brinkman of Tacoma, WA, Nancy Kido (Paul) of Des Moines, WA and Pamela Brinkman of Guyton, GA; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; many bonus grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and a very special friend, Jenni Yoeh.
Mavis, a breast cancer survivor of 55 years, had a life full of joy.
