Kenneth Thomas Obituary

Kenneth Lee Thomas (Tiny) 69 of Tacoma, Washington passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021. Born May 30, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois.   Kenneth was a devoted husband, father, grandfather (Grandpa Mici) and great grandpa.  He loved and cherished his family beyond measure.  He was genuinely proud of each and everyone of us! He had a quirky sense of humor that can make you chuckle in a heartbeat.  He never met a stranger and enjoyed sharing with everyone he met stories from his life experiences.  Next to talking about his grandchildren (his favorite subject),  he enjoyed sharing his love of Nascar,  wrestling, football, baseball and bowling, and stories from his childhood and military adventures. Kenneth's favorite holiday was Halloween, he enjoyed dressing up and handing out candy more than the children did. He spent many years on a bowling league and moonlight bowling.

He served the majority of his life in the US military. Kenneth was an honorably discharged Vietnam Veteran who served active duty in the US Army from 1971 to 1974. He was deployed to Vietnam during 1971 where he was a helicopter repairman on the Huey UH-1 helicopters and a gunner.  He also served in the Indiana Army National Guard from 1975 to 1979 and finished his military career serving in the US Airforce Reserves as a Aerospace Propulsion Craftman for the 446th Maintenance Squadron from July 1987 until retiring in October 2000.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 47 years, Audrey Thomas; daughters Candy Tribbett, Cherry Thomas; son Kenneth Thomas II (Stacey Chavira);  grandchildren - Dimici Thomas (JorDaine Masnov), Jacinda Campus, Austin Tribbett, Dylan Tribbett, Marquel Thomas, Clydell Thomas, Braydon Thomas, and Brodrick Thomas; great grandson DayMian Thomas (all of Tacoma WA); and his twin brother, Keith Thomas I (Lynn Thomas) of Blairsville, GA.  He was preceded in death by brother Edwin Thomas; sister Gloria England; and grandson Dominic Hartman.

Celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 1:00 pm in Tacoma, WA at the house of his daughter Candy Tribbett.

A private military honors ceremony will be streamed live at 10:30 am.  A link for virtual services will be shared when available.
