John Tass Espiritu took his last breath on June 1st, 2021 at Madigan Army Medical Center after a long, hard battle with COVID-19.
John was born in Tumuning, Guam on December 17 1959. He is the third youngest of 7 siblings, his parents being Mary Ogo Tass and Nicomedes Bautista Espiritu. In 1978, John chose to serve his country and join the United States Navy, where he was able to venture many new countries and cultures. After years of service and travel, John would be writing his pen-pal, now wife, Susana Fajardo. July 9, 1988, John was blessed with the opportunity to marry Susana back home on Guam, with his whole family to witness. Years later, they went on to build a family of three beautiful children; Keodi-Shawn, Deoni-John, and Leoni-Mari.
After 17 years of service to the military, John accepted early retirement to be more available to his family. After some years, John relocated his family to Tacoma to continue raising his three children. Outside of retirement, he would enjoy dancing, singing karaoke, cooking, making people laugh, baking, and decorating cakes. His playful personality and charming charisma will truly be missed by all who were lucky enough to meet him.
John Espiritu is survived by his family; Susana, Keodi-Shawn, Deoni-John, Leoni-Mari. He also leaves behind his siblings; Ernesto, Leonora, Helen, Nicomedes Jr., Ceferina, and Mille Espiritu.
