James Osburn Obituary

James Bruce Osburn was born in Seattle, Washington on December 7, 1938 to John Bailey Osburn and Esther Lydia Mork Osburn.  Jim attended several schools and graduated from Stadium High School in Tacoma, WA in 1957.  He attended the University of Washington to study engineering.  Jim worked for Boeing in Seattle and in Huntsville, Alabama.  He worked at Cape Kennedy during the first moon shots.  Jim attended Cedarville Bible College in Ohio and graduated from Arlington Bible Seminary in Texas.  He served one term as a missionary to France under World Baptist Fellowship.  Jim's greatest joy was sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with anyone in need of it.  He looked forward to seeing his wonderful Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He spent the past thirty years in the steel building construction industry.  In 1995 Jim started Osburn Steel Buildings and successfully completed dozens of projects throughout the Puget Sound region.  He retired in 2016.

Jim and Esther were married in 2000 at Calvary Baptist in Roy, WA.  They have lived in Spanaway for 15 years.  They travelled extensively to Australia, Branson, Missouri, Florida, and five trips to Maui.  Their favorite vacation spot was Stephanie Inn in Cannon Beach, Oregon.  Jim and Esther met in the sixth grade in Auburn, WA and were sweethearts until Jim went to college.  They went their separate ways and raised their families.  They met again, married, and had 20 1/2 beautiful years together.

Jim has been a member of Faith Baptist Church in Federal Way, WA for several years.

On Saturday, November 21, 2020 Jim passed away.  He had been in poor health for several years and this left him vulnerable to COVID-19 which caused his kidneys to fail completely.

Jim leaves to mourn his wife Esther; children James (Helen), John of Brisbane, Australia, Jeff (Michelle) of Murietta, California, and Janet of Livermore, California; siblings Dianne Wilkerson (Jim), John Osburn (Ditas) of Palm Springs, California, and Susan Lopeman of Federal Way, Washington; step-children Ken Mork (Jocelyn), Gary Mork (Jenny), Julie Peterson (Scott), Ray Yost (Claudine), Roger Yost (Gayle), Ronda Fullerton (John), and Renatta Yost; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents John and Esther Osburn.

Private graveside services will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn, Washington.  Celebration services will be at Faith Baptist Church in Federal Way, Washington with Pastor Mark Smith officiating.
