Ernest “Ernie” Julian Fernandez, a firm believer and beloved by all who knew him, passed away peacefully at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup New Year’s Eve with fireworks bursting in air over the Puyallup valley through his hospital window. Ernie was born April 21, 1943 in Auburn, WA to Ernest Peralta Fernandez and Madeline de Beaumont. He was raised in Auburn, WA, attended Auburn High School, class of 1961 and served 3 years in the United States Army, in the 81st Airborne Division.

In 1997 he met and married Ramona “Mona” Poniske. He enjoyed welding, which was his trade, very much. He loved golf and attending church with his wife Mona. Both entering this new relationship with adult children, Ernie is survived by his wife Mona and his sons EJ, Travis and Shad Fernandez as well as many grandchildren.
