Steve Kelley (Douglas Stephen Kelley) passed away on May 20th, 2021. He was born in San Diego on January 4th, 1932. Steve served in the Army, Navy, and retired from the Coast Guard Reserves.
He met his wife Audrey in Portland, OR and married in 1956. Steve often said “My life began when I married Audrey.” They moved their growing family to Bellevue, WA in 1963 where they joined the St. Louise Parish and were active community members for more than 60 years. They were both active in local politics for the Republican party. Steve and Audrey had five children, Maureen, David (deceased), Shawn, Douglas, and Colleen. They are also survived by 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Steve loved camping, traveling, and bridge, often combining all three by spending months traveling with their RV club all across the US and Canada. His love of all three was passed down to his children. There are many stories of camping adventures, canoeing, and hiking situations that were … not expected. With time, they are all remembered and retold fondly. To this day there is not a Kelley family gathering that does not involve hours of card playing and laughter.
He will be remembered fondly and missed deeply by his family. He is to be buried next to his wife of 67 years in Bellevue’s Sunset Hills Memorial Park.
