Betty Borden Obituary

Betty Jeane Borden filled her world with love, family and flowers.  Born on November 5, 1923 to Guy and Bessie Davis.  She grew up on her family's dairy farm in Wisconsin where she learned about hard work, gardening and loving God and family. As a young woman she ventured from the farm to Washington DC where she worked in the War Department during WWII.  It was there on a cruise on the Potomac where she met Joseph Harlan Borden, her future husband.  She would admit it was not love at first sight as the young sailor was a little inebriated. He did gradually win her over and they spent 63 happy years together before he passed in 2006.  Together they raised two daughters, Nancy and Margaret.  She was a big SF Giants fan but when they moved to Spanaway to be near family she learned to love the Mariners.  Betty enjoyed games of all kinds and family gatherings always included Yahtzee and penny ante poker games.  Betty created beauty and love within her family and is dearly loved and honored in return.

On July 9, 2020 Betty left us to join Joe, Margaret, and great-great granddaughter Bela in Heaven.  Family left to love and miss her are daughter Nancy (Kenneth) Griffith; grandchildren Glenda (Ken) Fay, Kymberly (Matt) Kees, Kenneth (Dani) Griffith, Alan (Tori) Bradshaw and Daniel (Kim) Bradshaw; ten beloved great grandchildren; six precious great-great grandchildren (plus one on the way.)

Betty will rest with her husband at Tahoma National Cemetery.

When she speaks she has something worthwhile to say and she always says it kindly.  Proverbs 31:26
