Norma Jean Grinnell

Norma Jean Grinnell born in Iowa City, Iowa to Claude and Edna Baumgardner on June 25, 1933. Norma was a LVN for most of her working career until she retired at the age of 48 years old. She was a resident of Tacoma, Washington for the last twentyfive years before she joined Our Lord on July 27, 2017. Norma loved to knit, crochet and work in the garden with her loving husband Ralph. She loved her flowers, family and helping others in need, she had a big heart. Norma was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and was part of the women's' Auxiliary club.

Norma is survived by her loving husband Ralph E. Grinnell just short of fifty years. Her children Victoria Barber-Stoudt, Leslie Crawford, Lila Jean (Joseph) D'Orio, Guy Edward Grinnell, James Eugene Barber, brother Kenneth Baumgardner, grandchildren Jeremy (Lisa Lammey) Barr, Kelly (Marietta) Henson, John Watson, Rhya Raven-Roper, Deborah Barber, William Barber, Christopher Barber, John Arion Thedy III, Lisa Knight, great-grandchildren Alexis Barnrieter, Sean Alonzo, Kelby Lammey, August Feeney and Aiden Feeney.

Norma was preceded by her son Charles Barber, daughter Galen Grinnell, brothers Eldon Baumgardner, Keith Baumgardner, Michael Baumgarder and her sister Lila White.

Charities Norma would donate to are the Disabled Veterans of America and different Missionary Churches. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday August 4, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 6511 S. C Street, in Tacoma.
