Mark Robert Whitman

Mark Robert Whitman died on September 2, 2018 at the age of 49.  Born January 28, 1969 to Douglas Whitman and Linda Challstrom, Mark was always a creative soul.  He loved to take things apart, especially if it had a motor.  Anything from a Harley to RC airplanes was fair game to his tinkering hands.  He loved rebuilding cars, customizing his treasures, and collecting the odd gun or two.  He was whip smart and his fascination with creatures fueled his creative spark and pushed him to learn more.  Working as a silk screener for twenty years gave Mark the opportunity to make art and share it with others.  He had uncovered a secret few know the answer to and bridged the gap from boyhood with his creative soul intact.  A boy who loved snakes, art, and cars that went fast, he grew into a man that nurtured and created those things.  He will actively and fiercely be missed.  Those left behind to continue loving Mark are his mother Linda Challstrom; father Douglas Mark Whitman; sisters Shannon Kay and Tevin Turpening; and nephews Alexander and Dustin.  Remembrances for Mark, who always let his creativity soar, can be made to the Fort Steilacoom Park RC Flying Field.
