Welcome to the memorial page for

Howard Charles Schindler

October 20, 1942 ~ December 28, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Howard Charles Schindler passed away December 28th 2017, at 75 years old.  He was born October 20th 1942 in Defiance, Ohio and was the oldest son of Rosie and John Schindler.  He graduated from Saint Mary’s Catholic School Class of 1958.  He enlisted into the Army and served 11 years as a decorated war vet.  He served in the Vietnam War as a Vehicle Diesel Mechanic until 1975.  He then worked for Occidental Chemical Corporation of Tacoma, WA for 25 years as a Mechanical Engineer.

Howard will be missed dearly by his family and friends and remembered for his sharp memory of the details of our lives.  As a family we laughed when sharing stories.  His love for his dog Gabby was undeniable and he wouldn’t go anywhere without her.  He enjoyed playing cards and hosting poker tournaments at his home with his poker group TAPPS.  He loved spending time with family, talking on the phone to his family and friends, and working in his yard.

His life will live on through his organ donations to 6 deserving lives.  His eyes will see life through another, his cheeks will still smile, and we can’t ask for more love than that.

Howard is survived by his six children: Margo (Sean) Kelly, Debbie Loynes, Mark (Lenora) Schindler, Dan (Peggy) Schindler, Jennifer (Bobby) Sanalitro, Howard (Julie) Schindler, and Step Children Kevin (Leila) Berg and Sheri Phanco, twenty seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and his dog Gabby.

Memorial donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Service Animal Program.
