Grace Marilynn (Sunset) Lynch was born in Roseau, Minn., in November 1922, 4th daughter of Andrew and Hattie Sunset. She passed away on February 15, 2018 in Tacoma, WA.
She attended school in Roseau and graduated High School in 1940. She graduated in 1941 from Teacher Training in Roseau and taught in rural schools in the county of Roseau for 3 years. During WWI she was a welder in a small shipyard in Portland, Oregon for 1 ½ years and earned her way through Minnesota School of Business in Mpls, Minn. where she worked for Pillsbury Mills for 5 years. She assisted her parents for years before leaving for Tacoma, WA, where she worked for 10 plus years at St. Regis Paper & Pulp Mill.
In 1963 she married Robert F Lynch. He died in 1988. She continued living in their home in Brown’s Point until 1994 when she moved into independent living at Tacoma Lutheran Home. Moved to Tacoma Lutheran Retirement Community in March of 2014.
She was preceded by Sisters Frances Karlsson, Marion Tryon, Margery Britigan, Dorothy Larsen, Florence Knutsen, Patricia Krantz and one brother Walter E Sunset; Surviving her are 13 nieces and nephews and 16 great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1st Lutheran Church, 524 S I St. Tacoma, WA 98405, on March 3, 2018 at 3 pm. A reception will follow the service in the parish hall. Any Memorial contributions may be made to the 1st Lutheran Church or Tacoma Lutheran Home.
