Vanessa Dunivan passed away at the age of 74 after a long hospitalization. She was born in Indianapolis, IN in 1949 to Charles and Opal Bowman. She traveled extensively, and especially loved Europe, which is where she met her husband, David. Eventually they settled in Spanaway, Washington where they remained after they both retired.
Vanessa made a career in nursing. She was an active member of the Elk Plain Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she made life-long friends. As her health worsened, she was unable to attend church however, her faith and her friendships remained strong.
Vanessa is preceded in death by her husband, David. She is survived by daughter Debbie Szymanski, son Jason Dunivan, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on February 9, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Chris of Latter-Day Saints, 6901 224th Street E, Spanaway, WA 98387. A private burial will follow.
